About Coaching

Coaching is a process that draws out an individual’s potential. Self awareness is key to actualizing one’s potential, so the coaching engagement will typically begin with some self-assessments. From there, a coaching contract is designed that outlines the goals, timeframe, and structure for the coaching process. During the coaching sessions, your coach will encourage you to experiment with different ways of approaching situations and will be there as a sounding board and guide for fine-tuning those new approaches and gaining greater and greater self-awareness. A coach will listen deeply for the sources of success and the roadblocks to success. Insights and new perspectives are reflected back so that the individual can come up with new ideas for how to approach new and existing challenges.

Unlike internal corporate training or self-improvement courses, which typically focus on technical skills and specific techniques and is delivered to a group of people, coaching relies on the relationship between the individual and the coach to achieve changes in thinking, attitude and behavior. Through this ongoing relationship, sustained behavior change, along with greater satisfaction in one’s work and personal life, can be achieved.
